CLG Enthusiast Photography Course
Welcome to the course
I'm so excited you've joined us to learn how to shoot confidently in Manual Mode.
How Does The Course Work?
The course contains 8 lessons which are released weekly via your email inbox & here in our member's website. You will have a full week to read, take in, practice the key components of each lesson and submit your challenge photos.
- Image Feedback
Our Private Facebook Group is where you'll share images from the challenge, receive feedback and critique from instructors and other students, and ask questions. For image critiques, these images can be placed in the FB Albums for the specific lessons. - Asking Questions
If you have any questions along the way, about the lesson material, about your camera or any aspects of the challenges, come and ask them in our facebook group and our instructors will be happy to help. You can also refer to our FAQs section right here. - BONUS Live Q&A
We will be holding a bonus Live Q&A Call in Week 5 of the course. You'll receive an email plus an event invite inside the FB Group with the dates of this call. It will be recorded so if you can't make it live, you'll be able to watch the replay. - Join the FB Group
Come and say hi and introduce yourself in the Course FB Group. If you haven't received an email with the link to your group, send us a message.
Equipment Checklist:
You will find incredible value from this course with whatever type of camera you have to hand... as our Photography Fundamentals will improve your photography across the board.
However if you're looking to equip yourself with additional tools, I can recommend that the following items will be handy through the course to help you achieve even better photos through the course.
Keep in mind these items are nice-to-haves... and are my recommendations if you're looking to upgrade or expand your gear. Do not feel like it's necessary to purchase anything additionally.
- DSLR/Mirrorless Camera on which you can manually adjust the Shutter Speed, Aperture and ISO Settings (Camera recommendations)
- A lens with a wide aperture (low f-stop number). A great budget option that is very popular is the 50mm 1.8 'Nifty Fifty' Lens (About this Lens)
- A Tripod. Any tripod whether large or small, that you can sit your camera on will help in some of our challenges.
- An external card reader. (These cost about $10-$15 from online or an electrical store) and will help you transfer your images from camera to your computer.
- Editing Software. It's very handy to be able to crop your images, prepare them for uploading online. You may use the photo editor that comes with your PC/Mac for these simple tasks, or you might wish to look at a photography editing program such as Adobe Lightroom Classic. We will talk more about these options in the course.
